Sweater Pillow!

I decided to do something with all of the random clothes that no longer fit me. I wanted to make a sweater pillow from THIS tutorial. I think it turned out great, plus i got to rip apart my husbands favorite gross pillow.

A little shirt refashion

I had a surge of creative energy and decided to refashion one of my daughter's stained tops and one shirt from me that just got shorter the more I washed it.  This is also my attempt at reverse freezer paper stenciling.

A Little Soomething for my nieces and nephew

I whipped these up in a day from some stash fabric. I also had another opportunity to use freezer paper.

Oh dear summer, you were just too short

My summer has come and gone. School has started for all, and even for me. Most of their school supplies have been bought, all but Jenna's lunch bag. Target and Wal-Mart really had nothing. So disappointing. But maybe more of an opportunity for me to make up something for her. I've been scouring the web for patterns and ideas. I may post that list soon, as it was quite time consuming just to find using Google.

I did finally get some fabric paint to do some freezer paper stencils. The cutting part tested my patience, but it was well worth it.

Sea Glass!

The Hubby decided to take me down to the Edgewater shore. Not really a sea shore, but good enough for me. We spent up to an hour searching for glass and at the end I had to rush so we could eat lunch.

While I was home...

While my baby girl had walking pnemonia this past week, a million ideas were running through my head for things to make. Not one got reproduced. Last night I whipped up this dress form for her to start draping some of the shirts that i have for her. I had several rolls of brown paper sticky tape that needed a purpose and this was perfect. I started by cutting the sleeves off of my husband's old tee and putting it on Jenna. Then as my patient assistant sat still, I wrapped the tape around her until she could take it no more. Then, I carefully cut a straight line down her spine to remove everything, stuffed it with the many plastic bags that I have lying around. Also, I found a rusty plant stand that I hed every intention of putting a plant on, but it works out great to stand up the form. Hopefully This will still be her size at least until the end of the year.Enjoy!

Ottobre design has some great little printable patterns. I found them looking at Small Magazine.

Lovely Ruffled Skirt

I just came across an easy tute for a ruffled skirt. It even has a calculation tool to customize it to your girl or even an adult. Go check it out here.

Future Refashions

Here are some of my sketches for my future men's shirt refashions. Sorry about the blur, my hand is never steady enough for close ups.

Men's Shirt Refashion #2

As I said, there would be another one of these to show. Voila! The dress was somehow way easier to do than the first. I decided to change it up a little and use a different pattern McCall's 9410. Which oddly, I can't find a link to. This time I had Jenna try it on before it was hemmed, if it looks a little long on her.
